Do you want all the benefits of a beautiful fireplace but don’t want to do a lot of maintenance and upkeep? Then a new high-efficiency gas fireplace might be right for you.

Why go with a gas fireplace?
- They pour out plenty of heat. Modern gas fireplaces are powerful enough to heat a single room or a smaller home.
- They look great. Modern gas fireplaces come in a range of sizes, styles, and designs, so finding a nice fit for your space and aesthetics is no problem.
- They’re convenient. Unlike wood systems that require hauling, chopping, and fire-building, gas fireplaces are very low maintenance.
- They’re easy to operate. Gas fires start and stop with a simple switch, and you’ll have very little maintenance to perform for the life of the unit.
- They burn cleaner. All gas fireplaces manufactured today must meet strict emissions standards set forth by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), so you can enjoy your fireplace knowing you’re not adding a bunch of pollutants to the air.
In the end, with professional installation from our CSIA-certified technicians, your new gas appliance will provide great heat and quality performance for many years to come. If you’re not the type of person who enjoys buying/cutting wood, hauling it, storing it, cleaning up after it, and getting a fire started with it, a gas-burning fireplace is exactly what you need.
Where Can I Install My Gas Fireplace?
The vent systems for gas fireplaces allow for more placement options throughout your home than a wood fireplace might offer. You can have a small gas fireplace in the bathroom, a larger unit in your bedroom or kitchen, and/or a high-powered unit in your main room. This makes zone heating a snap – you heat only the areas of the home you choose and only for as long as you wish. Easy on, easy off…that’s what makes heating with gas so great.
Ready to move up to gas? Let us help you select the perfect model that will best meet your heating needs and aesthetic tastes. And if you’re not sure where to place it, we can help with that too. Our certified fireplace technicians will install your new appliance in strict accord with manufacturer’s guidelines and any local zoning and safety requirements.

What Are Common Gas Fireplace Issues?
What problems do we see the most with gas fireplaces? And how can we resolve them?
- The fireplace won’t turn on or ignite. A faulty igniter, worn-out thermocouple, or damaged pilot light could be the issue here, in which some replacement parts will be in order.
- The pilot light keeps going out. This might be due to a dirty pilot assembly, thermocouple issues, or insufficient gas flow. Some cleaning could resolve the issue or you may need to replace a component.
- The fireplace doesn’t respond to the thermostat settings. Dealing with a broken thermostat or wiring issues? It’s likely you may need to replace the thermostat altogether.
- The gas supply is inconsistent or completely cut off. This is usually caused by a malfunctioning gas valve or a blockage in the line.
- There are uneven flames or no flames at all. You may have a clogged burner, dirty ports, or damaged components. You’ll want to start with cleaning the burner, then go from there.
- The glass doors are foggy, cracked, or loose. Fireplace door issues can be caused by heat damage, natural wear and tear, or improper sealing. They can be cleaned or, if damage is too extensive, replaced.
- The blower is noisy or not functioning properly. This usually occurs because of dirt buildup, a faulty motor, or worn-out components. Cleaning the blower, lubricating parts, or replacing the motor is the next course of action.
- You’re experiencing unsafe carbon monoxide levels. If dirty or blocked vents are creating dangerous situations, cleaning the vent system, as well as inspecting the fireplace for damage, is a must.
- There is excessive soot around the fireplace or on logs. This could be due to improper combustion or dirty logs and burners. Clean the logs, burners, and firebox.
- The fireplace doesn’t respond to the remote or wall switch. You’re likely dealing with dead batteries, damaged wiring, or a faulty receiver.
- You smell gas near the fireplace. Damaged or loose gas lines can trigger gas leaks. If you smell gas, turn off the supply, then leave the area and call for help.
- There’s poor air circulation or backdrafting. Blocked or improperly installed vents can cause drafting issues. Cleaning or adjusting the vent system will be in order, so reach out to a professional for servicing.
The good news is that regular maintenance and professional inspections can prevent many of these issues and ensure your gas fireplace operates as safely as possible. Book your next inspection with our crew today.
